11 CCBP Members joined Cape Cod’s Housing Assistance Corporation this Saturday 22 September, to do some intensive yardwork at a veteran’s widow’s home. He had passed some 20 years ago, and it seemed that the property hadn’t had any cleanup done since then. A beautiful house right on a small pond, the trees all around were taller than the gutters and obscured all the views of the water. HAC is a local charity helping those in need to maintain their properties and maintain their lifestyle even when their health and their situation makes it difficult. Chris MacNamara generously provided the equipment including two large trucks which shuttled back and forth to the dump all day. When we were done the homeowner was so overcome, she couldn’t believe the difference.
On Saturday September 10th 2016 a core group of CCBP members took over the Mini-Golf Course at Skull Island on Route 28 in South Yarmouth.
Through a generous offer of the owners, Bass River Sports World we were able to sell tickets for mini golf and donate all of the proceeds to charity. As well as mini golf, visitors to the facility were able to get free burgers and hot dogs cooked by Chris MacNamara. We sold 47 tickets to friends and family ahead of the event and 69 at the event for a total of $1165 donated to our chosen charities for the event. Members also sponsored some of the mini-golf holes and brought their own families for a fairly serious competition to see who would win the day. Please look out for our date for next year and don’t miss the fun!
